I'm Not Gonna Play That Game

The huge gaming expo, E3, is over and it was a whirlwind of info. While I mainly checked out the upcoming games for the 360 I also kept an eye open on what the other systems had coming out. It seems the PS3 info was enough to kick my one co-worker into full on fanboy mode. He claims he owned a 360 for a brief period of time and if he did I'm sure he used his 5 finger discount to significantly reduce his out of pocket expense. He then sold the unit, or traded it for weed, and figured he'd wait out the release of the PS3. We still know few details about the unit and he's already pissing me off. I bought all the previous generation consoles because they all had games I wanted and things I liked. The PS3 has yet to impress me and with a 600.00 price tag it better come installed with some 3-D virtual sex program. I know the system will sell based solely on the success of the PS2. The Nintendo Wii is the gayest sounding system name ever but I am certainly impressed with the games, the innovative "controller" and the suspected low retail price. I can be a fan of the 360 without going the way of the fanboy. I just wonder how I can get him to shut if mouth when he doesn't have the facts or a clue.

It's good to see another Mother's Day gone by. This holiday is just pure hell on numerous levels.

It takes a real toll on my wife each and every year. I never want to bring up past events that are so tough so each year I hope we'll be able to slide by. So far this plan has never worked. It just so happened this year on that special holiday she believed she might be pregnant again. It turns out it was a false alarm. I guess this event will get stacked on top of the already huge pile of baggage we have about this holiday.

Mother's Day is the biggest day at my job because so many of you out there don't care enough to stay home and make mom dinner. Each year we try to prepare the best we can. This year we had lots of help and we thought it was going to be a breeze. Turns out it was a twister and we all got knocked on our asses. The computer system we use turned against us and simply refused to cooperate at times.

The dreaded call to my own mother. *sigh* It's always awkward and forced. We talked about the weather so that really shows about how hard we both tried. It wasn't as bad this year. We discussed a few random topics and it probably would of been longer but I needed to get showered and sleep after my 11+ hour day at work.
